This raster compiles and spatialises pressures from human activities on marine biodiversity in BioProtect Irish Demonstration Site. EMODnet (https://emodnet.ec.europa.eu/en) shapefiles of all activities occuring in the Irish marine space was processed through the JNCC database. Activities layers were multiplied by their allocated pressure described in the JNCC (https://data.jncc.gov.uk/) database (0.5 for mid/low pressure values and 1 for high pressure values) and then scaled to the 99th?percentile so that the pressure layer is scaled in a 0 to 1 gradient with extreme values removed. The footprint map was produced by the Artic University of Norway and the Marine Institute as part of the EU-funded BioProtect project (WP4). The aim was to produce a coherent map of cumulative pressures which can support the identification of areas of priority for conservation. It will feed into the efforts to reach the Kunming-Montreal Framework and EU target of designating 30% of the Irish marine space as protected areas by 2030 (https://www.cbd.int/gbf). All project activities, deliverables and publications relevant to BioProtect can be found on the official website: https://bioprotect-project.eu/

",
